Weather update for out of towner

Hello AZ people, what does the rough forcast look like for the coming weekend/midweek in the Prescott/Pheonix areas? May be heading to Prescott for a quick redeye trip and weather permitting whether I bring a bike or not.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd just check weather.com 5 day forecast for eacxh of Phoenix and Prescott as they will have quite different weather potentially.

It's been cooler by desert dweller standards, a bit of moisture and a cool breeze now and then but is likely to be sunny like it usual. Perfect riding weather IMO. This morning at 5:30a felt like it was in the 50s well before the sun was coming up. Hard to beat that.

Yeah thanks I realize the differences and did chk it that way but was trying to get an actual read from locals. Prescott is where I need to go for family issues, and have ridden several times, but could drop down south a couple hours and check out some real desert riding!

Yeah logistically that would be the better solution (since I'm driving from Ca, not flying into Phoenix like last time I visited). Just have never ridden the SoMo or ? areas.

Curious what would be the closest area to ride if I was to come down south from Prescott?

Lately in Phoenix if there has been a 10% chance of rain it has rained all day. It has been rainy and cold the past week, with not much change in the weekend forecast.

We rode down there for the first time this past week. From Clarkdale it is about 1.5hrs to PMP and another 20min south to SOMO. Today we rode PMP in the morning and SOMO in the afternoon. Left at 0730 and with a long dinner stop, home by 8pm. Kinda cool to hit two completely different types of riding areas in the same day! Weather was great, a little wind but very pleasant.

So many places, so little time. Now I just have to see if I can even pull off the riding part. Plus I have to factor in the 2-12hr driving stints to/fro in the mix.

Thanks to all for the input.

It depends what you are looking for. Flowy singletrack? Then definitely Black Canyon Trail it is close to you and possibly best smooth singletrack in the state.

If you want chunk go to somo

Yeah I just read an article on that trail. sounds great. I did just pick up a 575 but not going to push the envelope on a solo chunk ride. Save that for a group. Probably bring the ss it's easier to throw in the back seat.

    Thanks for the trail beta.
