Weapon of choice for DH/FR tires?

Yesterday riding National I sliced my rear Nevegal, so now I am in the market for new tires. The bike is a Giant Reign X, and I would like to get some nice wide tires. What do you like for running National, Geronimo etc.

Minion DHF front and rear or Minion DHF front with High Roller rear. Choose Super Tacky for ultimate in traction. I trust the 2 ply.

Also had great experience with WTB Prowler MX front and WTB Dissent rear, btoh in DNA compound wire bead DH case. Roll very well and are great on SoMo.

Another vote for Maxxis Minion. They are expensive and go bald after 3 months of hard riding, but damn they hook up.

I am trying the high roller LUST on the rear of my AM bike and loving it so far.
Getting a dropper post is like getting a bidet. I didn't know I needed one until I get one and boy, does my ass thank me.

I rode with minions for 4 or 5 years, the butchers are a level up for sure. Side nobs corner like nothing I have ever experienced!

So are there any good prices to be had on the Butchers in a 2.5in up front 2.35 rear, or the with the minions? I have heard that they run small so should I go with the 2.7in front and 2.5 rear?

Minions and Butchers are both excellent for grip, I also like the Kenda Excavator, may now be the Nexcavator, harder rubber than Minion or Butcher though.......

South Mountain Cycles ordered me a 2.5 butcher today, and they are holding a 2.35 for the rear. I decided to try the SX version instead of the DH, so they are not so heavy. If they don't hold up, I will get the DH version next time.
