Whoa! Lots of folks have these too. During the AZSF Hawes ride all I saw were green dots floating aroung. Bummer. Dinotte for me! Been working great for two years - and no fires. Yet.
Today's the day I eat bikes.

No fires for my MS 900 and 1400 lightsets either, ridiculously great customer service from GeomanGear (replaced a light due to damaged power cord) and still get replacement batteries. Zero hesitation in making the recommendation for the best bang for the buck lightsets and retailer around.

GeoManGear has been upfront about this all along. I spoke with GeoManGear's Reide (Jay, the original geomangear founder lost his battle with colon cancer last year) at El Pueblo, and the replacements are coming. I still swear by my set of MS lights, they have worked problem-free for a year now, and I am about as worried about the batteries catching on fire as I am about my laptop battery catching fire (as happened once to a friend of a friend's friend's cousin's grandmother's neighbor's friend's sister a few years back, prompting mass hysteria and recall/replacements). Just be patient, and check the geomangear website from time to time...the recall/replacement is coming, GeoManGear is a respectable and trustworthy dealer, and every little thing's gonna be all right.

The only solution to this is to place it in an airtight ziplock bag after every use and suspend that bag in an ice chest full of water. That is all.
Flyin the TallBoy and the Lynskey...Clyde style.
