    Value of a Used Bike

I'm kicking around the idea of upgrading my '08 Stumpy Comp and am doing a little research to try to determine the best asking price when I sell.

Question- since it's an XL should that add value or reduce value? I realize the XL size will reduce the market for the bike but am also thinking that since it's more rare, people that need an XL may be willing to pay a bit more once they see it.

    Opinions?

I would not consider an XL to be a plus or minus in the asking price. Just go with standard pricing for used equipment in conjunction with a CL/Ebay search for average selling price of same equipment.

I would not leave money on the table just because of size. If you have a buyer disclose and unload it. Do you have another bike you are looking at?

XL size will drop the price drastically. I'll give you $500 for it. ;-)

When you bought it (new I assume) did you have to pay more or less because it was XL?
I would price it at the same price any other size is selling for on a comparably equipped bike.
When I recently sold my XL bike on craigslist (albeit not as high end as yours), I had to repost it 3 times before I got any calls. The first person who called bought it for almost asking price. Turns out, it was one of the first posting in the bike section when he logged on. Just dumb luck. Craigslist can be weird like that
