Nice. They have some awesome trails up on South Mountain. We had to run all over those hills in the academy.

Cool video! I really got back into the sport last year and still haven't braved Geronimo, or much else of South Mtn, other than a small section of Desert Classic. Mcdowell Mtn, and Phoenix Mtn Preserves are my playgrounds!

I need the gear though, a full face helmet, shoulder pads, and possibly chest armor, those rocks and that decent are BIG!

Yea the gear helped me out on that run. Only minor bruising.
Also, first song was by Killswitch Engage.

Nice runs, albeit a little slow.

I know you're newbs so don't take that personally, at all. But, I will point out that by going slow you make the trail much more difficult. But, that will come with experience for sure. I know in just the last 9 months of serious riding since meeting and riding with some better riders that I just smoke down trails I use to putter down. Once you get used to riding the rough terrain, learning how to roll, jump, or manual off the drops, and especially once you learn a trail a little you'll find you can pick up the speed and flow through everything much easier. It'll actually drive you crazy trying to go slow

I'm sure I've ate it in that same switchback the same way. Switchbacks were one of the toughest things to learn. One of the biggest skills to help with them is balance. Work on practicing trackstands. As you get better at them you'll find EVERYTHING improves. In fact, I made a thread about my improved balance and how much it has helped me

But, most of all, keep practicing

That looks like a pretty fun trail. I'll have to make the looooooong drive out to SoMo one of these days. I'm spoiled with T100 being right down the street. I liked your choice of music too

Don't worry so much about the speed. It will come.

I've wanted to do Geronimo for some time but just never got around to it, sad considering I live about a mile from the 46th street lot. The video makes it look somewhat comparable in tech to National (mostly not bad with a good feature every few minutes), is that about right?

It's more comparable to lower national. You could do it no problem, Tom

Cool video... you'll be able to go faster too once you have a bigger bike. I ride a 4" XC hardtail with 26" wheels and I simply have to take certain sections slower than the 6" bikes and such.

    Good song choice too...

No problem. I'm going to be going back there a lot for sure, just not this weekend. Maybe I'll see you on the mountain some time.
