There's Blood In Them There Hills...

my blood to be exact.funny how the no brainer parts of the trail are the sections that usually ring your bell! for me it was sunday morning on the way down national from buena vista lot.the next to last corner before the upper falls has a new rain rut that put me down hard.the trail looks much different when you're 2 inches away and upside down! a quick check shows all the carnage is on me and not the bike.i can heel, but fixing the bike cost money! should have got a couple of stitches,it's to late now.may need a new helmet, but ven't checked it out yet.the rest of the ride was a little cautious but still a good time.a little sacrifice to the trail gods should keep us all upright for a little longer anyway.

was that you with the Quasimoto?

That rut has grabbed a few bikes by the looks of it. If your ride was the older Quasimoto, we were at the waterfall taking a break when you were coming down.

The National trail is very humbling

It has collected blood from anybody/everybody who have ridden it for long periods of time. All of us in our crew have spilled some over the past 4 years. Welcome to the OTBSC (over the bar scar club).

Reminds me of a ride I did probably 7-8 years ago. Starting from the Pima Canyon parking lot we started seeing drops of blood. This trail of blood went all the way up the fireroad, up Mormon, up National, getting thicker all the way. Finally it lead to a good sized pool of blood at the bottom of the falls. It was pretty freaky, I never heard what happened to the guy or who it was. Hope he made it OK...
