There is still no better motivation...

Solo ride at somo the other day and had just finished looping Mormon and national but saved an energy reserve to explore some new stuff I hadn't ridden yet. I had spotted some steep sections to the southeast of the fireroad I had never explored before and figured they were worth a look. After HABing way up a steep and loose trail to the peak I had been scoping out I found a super steep, chunky and technical line to session on the back site. Riding alone the likelihood of hitting a new line like this is usually about 50/50. After dropping in and bawking a second time in non-committal fashion I was pushing back up to take another run in and standing at the top of the line was a beautiful blonde specimen of hiker wildlife. We chatted for a few minutes and then (as most hikers do), she asked if she could watch me hit the line....uh oh.... Challenge ACCEPTED. "You've got this" she says. I rolled in with this new sense of motivation- like butter.

I have accepted that in this regard I will likely never grow up. Though a dangerous thing it may be, there is still no better motivation than the coaxing eyes of a good looking women.

Interesting. Is that one of those lines we see from the drop in to National and always wonder, "is that rideable?"

Mike, this zone is on the left about half way up the fire road, not at the national drop in. I am fairly certain if you noticed it, it would meet your criteria as very ridable (doesn't look like much)

Miss ya brother! We also have mesa bike park near my place here now too. Great spot to goof around and work on flow/jumps when traffic is bad and the idea of traversing the US-60 is too miserable. Will be in San Diego April 2nd...any hope you can get to SD that weekend?

I'll get in touch with you. I may be in Orange County that weekend. There is some good riding there.
