Talk me out of buying a Santa Cruz Tallboy LT
I really, really want a SC Tallboy LT. Any reason I shouldn't order one? I'd probably get the R kit in aluminum.

I know it's way too much bike for the mostly cross country riding I usually do now, but I mainly want a bike I can grow into as my skill increases. Nobody has ever wished for less suspension travel on a bad trail, right?

Rode a demo Tallboy LTc a couple weeks ago. Amazing bike. Rallied the technical stuff. No noticeable bob on climbs. Really really fun.

Are there any shops in Phoenix that loan them out?

Don't do it. You will regret it.
    Those were your instructions right???
Now go buy it and report back.
I would spend more time with this but I am washing the dishes.

The only thing really stopping me is a shaky work schedule right now. I'd probably just get another credit card, put it on that, and then pay it off over a year, eighteen months while the card is in 0% mode. Buy now, pay later. It's the American way, right?

Its a turd. Don't waste the money. The orange one is disgusting too. No one likes a tall boy. Junk.

That is a very versatile platform for Arizona. I advise you to buy the hell out of that thing.

Hey, I just got back from the mailbox. There was a Capitol One application there. 1% cash back and 0% APR until March 2013. That's gotta be a sign, right? God wants me to have a Tallboy.

    Luv my SC
    Hey Eazy_E
I bought a SC Tallboy C after X mas . So for the last 6 months i have been in love with my bike. Every day i ride it i smile and it can do anything i want it to do. The LT would be better for SoMo and just to abuse. i race some XC , but i love technical riding and this bike can do it all. I say BUY IT NOW...... i have owned 5-6 SC bikes they are a great company..

    Later,
    Johnny K

I demo'ed the 2011 tallboy carbon. nice bike except that is a 29'er. Im 6'5" tho, so the wheel base is incredibly long in the XL i rode couldn't do a 90 turn for the life of me , also i feel that my center of balance is waaay to high on a 29er. get a 26" bike. @ssholes and opinions.

Carbon Nomad if you want a bike that will be proven as your skill increases.

Oh NO, is Dog Jones'in for a Nomad? Poi would be so happy for you. He's the 1 that started the Nomad wave you know.

    Yeah......

I've got a 26" now, and I'm not digging it. A better suspension on both ends, and tubeless would solve most of it's problems, but it just doesn't feel right. I'm 6'4" and I kind of feel like I'm sitting on top of it, rather than in it.

I dunno, I guess I'm just bored with my current bike. I know I'm not confident with it's abilities. I just want a bike that will re-ignite the fire in me. The Tallboy LT looks like the best choice out there to do it.

Eazy_E - which 29ers have you ridden: RIP9, WFO, Lunchbox, Epiphany, specialized, trek? These are available now and it will give you something to compare too when you ride the Tallboy LT. I ask because I wanted to love the tallboy and waited for it before I pulled the trigger on a new ride. In the end it wasn't the bike for me, didn't feel right, and went with a RIP instead.

Probably about a year out right now but the carbon nomad is on top of the list.

EazyE I am curious, as I have several steeds, but no 29ers in the stable
forgive me If i am prying but do you have a 26" bike already? what do you have and what kind of riding do you like to do that youre shopping a 29er?

I have tested a few but not been on one I feel like taking home
