Special place in do-do land for this guy

Driver in fatal hit-and-run tried to trade in car

    by Michael Ferraresi - Aug. 12, 2009 02:24 PM

    The Arizona Republic

Police on Wednesday announced they arrested a man suspected of trading in his 1992 BMW in the government "cash for clunkers" program in the wake of a fatal hit-and-run collision over the weekend.

Timothy Kissida, 23, is accused of striking a bicyclist on Cave Creek Road north of Deer Valley Road around midnight on Saturday.

The accident killed Charles Waldrop, 52, who was riding in the marked bicycle lane.
According to police, Kissida told car salesmen that front-end damage to his BMW 325i was caused when he struck a javelina.

Detectives seized the vehicle and arrested Kissida after serving a series of search warrants, Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said.

Kissida faces charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and tampering with evidence, Thompson said.

Saw this the other day makes me sick how some people disregard human life. My guess he was probably drunk on top of that too. I hope he gets everything he deserves.

They need to increase the penalty for a hit and run Maybe I didn't pay attention to the news when I was a kid but it seems like there's a lot more people who just simply drive off or never even stop these days. Remember the POS' who hit a couple and stopped only to pull one of the victim off the hood and left them in the intersection? WTF?!?! Some do come back in minutes or turn themselves in later but you shouldn't leave period. I don't want to hear, "I panicked and didn't know what to do and left" as an excuse either, thats BS.

Modern society seems to have no care for anyone else but themselves. As long as I come out above, I don't care who I hurt in the process What kills me is that I guess these SOB's can still sleep at night

Anyway, I don't exactly recall but sentences for hit and run offenses always seems to be rather light. I'm no lawyer but it just seems like a slap on the wrist when I read about it.

It should be a serious crime with some serious penalties IMO

What a jackass...the guy was probably so wasted he didn't even realize he hit someone until he woke up the next morning!

A good reminder for everyone to be more vigilant as they ride the Valley streets...this place is dangerous!

I'm almost speechless...That's the same area I used to ride for my work commute at the newspaper. This guy appears to be more than just uncaring, maybe sociopathic is more like it.

Totally agree with you Paul, when I saw it, I thought the guy looked similar to a Musketeer. We may even be witnessing a new brand of Douchebag - the Douchesketeer.
