    Self-filmed ride on Hawes

On Friday I took off from work early with permission to go on a long ride. I headed to Hawes knowing that I would be out there for a few hours because I have been wanting to make a little video of my ride without ANY chest mount footage. This is what I came up with when I was done.....this video reminded me how much fun Hawes is...

That was awesome. I certainly appreciate the effort of riding ahead to put out the camera and set it up, then riding back to pick it up. Makes the whole video.

I used a GoPro HD on a gorillapod. With the settings on 720p @ 60fps. Since I didn't have any "on-board" footage I wish I would have had it in 1080 mode but didn't think of that until I was importing it on to the computer.

Very nice. I still have the non-HD GoPro and it's just to much "fish eye" for most video so I just set it up for pics. Looks like I'll have to upgrade soon

Best Hawes vid out there! Sweet time lapse segment with the clouds. Nice edit.

Super fun video. I would love to do something similar, but lack "the eye", and honestly I can't imagine how much time you put into that, but it had to be hours and hours of editing besides set up and filming.

    Good job.

    fun stuff.

I wanna roll that rock at the 1:20 mark. The dismount looks a little sketchy though.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I was setting the camera up. If you stay to the left the dismount doesn't look too bad. I may have to check it out again next time I am there.

Very cool video, I suppose since most video is chest/helmet/bike mounted camera - it's refreshing to see it from a distant perspective.

I hope you had fun filming this because I can see it was a big effort to do it solo.

Nice effort! That must have taken some time, to be sure. Worth it. Love the coming and going shots. Pretty pro style. Time lapse was sweet too. Looking forward to the next one.

Nice work! Everyone has pretty much gone to the chesty camera angle, but there is still something about stationary camera shots, I like to mix it up! Lot of work, paid of in the video results!
