    sedona camping

    anybody have any suggestions on FREE sedona area camping?
    I am looking to go up there and dirtbag it for a few days

    Look on the Sedona trails map. Anything forest service, and out of the Red rock reserve (orwhateverthehell) is fair game. Closest is NW of town.

    And you don't need a Red Rock pass, either.

    Don't think "anything" in Sedona is free, however you might contact Absolute Bikes and ask for Steve. Good luck and watch out for green rattlers, came really close to one on Broken Arrow a few weeks ago!

    Not free, but camping close to town in Oak Creek Canyon. Highway 89 going towards Flagstaff. Problem this time of year is not much sunlight in there.

    Go south about 6 miles, turn right. I camped there for a long time for free. Have no idea what its called.

    thanks for the info guys. ended up squatting off some dirt roads south on 89A
    it worked out quite nice

    ride well.

    Down Schnebly Hill Road there is free camping in the Woods Wildlife Area. It is closed from December to April, but has awesome views of the red rock canyons. Also its not too far from the broken arrow trail. Which one of the best trails in Sedona (my opinion). We traveled there in September and had a great time.
