In Scottsdale for a week...need trail recommendations

in town from Vegas and needs some trails to ride in the N Scottsdale area. I prefer more technical but will take anything that is fast fun and with some distance 12-15 miles plus

What's your definition of technical? If you ride out at Bootleg Canyon...then you would probably like Phoenix Mountain Preserve. Hairball and Cheesegrater are some good technical trails...and about 20 min from Scottsdale.

like to climb? > Tom's Thumb, Windgate, Bell, Sunrise...all the passes in the McD's. A little tech depending on the descent route you take.
like to cruise? > Browns Ranch
like chunk? > Phx Mtn Preserve (as mentioned above)

    Ton's of options...

Competitive Loops at McDowell Mountain Park. The Technical Loop has a pretty hellacious drop. Lotta fun overall though.

If you want real technical then head to South Mountain. Depending on where you are in scottsdale its about 20 minutes away. Up Toms thumb and East End down is fun and technical and then up to bells and back down to gateway is a great loop. about 13 miles but some serious climbing

You staying in Scottsdale voluntarily? This information dramatically affects my answer.

You'll be staying right down the street from my house...so if you want to ride while you're here...just shoot me a PM or post-up. I'll have family in town during Christmas, but if I'm available, I'd be happy to show you some of the good stuff.

I will be here until either Friday or Saturday so if you have time let me know.

I think I will try and ride the McDowell competition trails tomorrow. IT looks close and will give me some miles if I do all three trails in addition nearly impossible for me to get lost
