Schultz Creek Area Trails Survey - City of Flagstaff

I'd encourage all who use the titled area to go to this link and let your feelings be known:

What is shocking here is that the creator of the survey neglected to provide the option to indicate "Mountain Biking" as a mode of usage in the first question - leaving only walking, running, hiking, backpacking, or wildlife watching.

Not sure if it is intentional or by ignorance, but I would urge you all to leave a comment towards the end that the omission of this mode of usage is pretty glaring as to render the results of the survey biased from the outset.

oh my, how did that slip through the cracks? The creator of the survey gave a quick overview at the last Flagstaff Trails Initiative Meeting but we primarily discussed the location. Just goes to show you the Open Space Commission has no clue. Good spot Maad, we need to get this pulled ASAP.

The word is out so we'll see if we can get this revised. The original question as posed in the draft by the Open Space Commission was:

What activities do you partake/participate in at the Schultz Creek trails/area? (rank those that apply from 1 -10,1 being you most common type of use and 10 being the least common. most frequent use, all that apply)

Walking (short leisurely walks, starting from your house)
    Day hiking (longer hikes)
    Overnight backpacking
    Running/jogging
    Wildlife watching
    Mountain biking
    Snow shoeing
    Cross country skiing
    Horseback riding
    Motorized - motorcycles
    Motorized - quads
    Motorized - snowmobiling
    None

Not sure how it got cut to 5 user groups. An egregious error considering mountain biking is likely the primary user group.

The poll has been fixed. The reason it got cut from 10 uses to 5 was simply because the survey software can only handle 5 options to choose from. Still, I'm not sure how 'wildlife watching' makes it in when that is referring to an activity that is pursued while hiking, running, biking, or whatever. What about bird watching or flower sniffing?

Something else to add when leaving a comment is a bike stand work station at the trailhead. For example, https://www.dero.com/product/fixit/?...pump=air-kit-3

Another comment I had was a stacked loop system. Keep the dog walkers close to the trailhead with a greater difficulty of trails as you head further out.
