    RR: Myrtle's Rim Job

Anyone ever heard of the Myrtle trail?? After riding...err hiking it over the weekend I doubt many have. We did it once, to close a route loop, which turned out pretty ok.

We started our ride on the semi-newly reworked section of the Highline trail heading east from the Washington Park TH. 9 miles of bliss turned into vintage Highline BS. Then the 1 mile, 1100' push up the Myrtle trail to FR300. The miles were swift getting back to the AZT, where a chunky downhill dropped us onto the newly resurrected Colonel Devin trail.

It was a fun day with lots of stops, but worth the 7+ hours on the bike.

I just happened to be look at our old Oracle Ridge snow ride from Dec 2016. Just thinking I need another crazy ride like that. Great timing for this RR. Love to see trails less ridden tackled even if there is some HAB and WTF moments. All part of the fun.

It's always good practice to toss in a fresh route. Doesn't matter if it's all buffed out singletrack or some heinous HAB, just mix it up. That's been my motto for years and I never get bored of riding. Heck, I try avoiding the same trail system back-to-back. That's just me though, I'm very fortunate to have enough time to vary my rides when I get out & don't mind driving to other areas.

Looks awesome. Hopefully they keep moving with the trail improvements. There was only 5.5mi done last year when I rode it.

At least the Dude Creek crossing provided for a nice break!
