    RR: Goldfield Mtns

Here you go Rockman, order restored...at least for a few minutes!!

Last weekend a few of us ventured over to the Goldfield Mtns. for some exploratory riding. The Goldfields are those forgotten hills east of Pass Mtn. and WNW of the Superstitions. There is plenty of singletrack back there, you just have to find it and accept that the riding will be slow. There will be HAB. The trails are primitive, but from what we encountered are fairly easy to follow. The scenery makes up for any shortcomings on the trail IMO.

I rode this area on a moto years back. This place is for a special breed of rider like Schilling. Lot's of rock, trails flow strange as they were created by horse folks. I rode maybe 25 miles on my moto and was completely gassed. I have had zero desire to go back there on any type of bike. There is some cool slick rock as you can see though and very scenic. If you ride it, just be ready for some work and little flow.

I was wondering why the pictures show a beautiful flowing ST and the stats say less than 11 miles in 4 hours. Sounds like it could be a beat down ride in a good kinda way

We had a few other issues going on that resulted in the long time out there. My moving time was 2:16, overall time 4:04.

John you found another gem area that I ride several times each winter,
I want to break thru to the river one day; but haven't found even a deer trail yet. Good sleuthing.
    Cheers

Thanks for the TR! Looks like a cool area. I know you said there was some trail back there, but I wouldn't have imagined that much. Must have been added to TF recently as I don't recall seeing it before. I'm thinking of an AZ trip for Thanksgiving so I will have to put this on the list for then!
