    Riding The Loop in Tucson

In October, my wife and I are doing a "pedal-cation" in the Old Pueblo and I need some advice from the locals. We have done MTB rentals in Tucson before and had a blast. This trip, we plan on splitting our time between MTB's and road bikes. Here are my questions:

Is there a rental shop you recommend?

Our road riding will be on The Loop and probably Old Spanish Trail, will standard road bikes be OK for these paths?

    Thanks in advance!

To your second question, yes - a road bike will be ok for the loop and Old Spanish Trail. I can't really answer your first question as I've never rented a bike in Tucson, so I'll leave that to others.

Yes roads bikes will be great for the loop.
For rentals call homegrown mtb tours. They have several carbon stumpjumpers and enduros that you can rent.

As others stated, road bikes are fine on the loop. It's a completely paved 8-12' wide asphalt path around town. I know more shops rent road bikes that mountain bikes in town. I've heard good things about Homegrown for MTB rentals. Call shops for road bikes.
