    R.I.P. McDowell Pump Track

I showed up this morning to find Alan in tears and a bulldozer destroying the pump track I literally couldn't believe my eyes. After calming down Alan he explained that the county decided to stop the project because we hadn't made enough progress. He also said they had issues with the liability (damn lawyers!!!!). So anyways, here is the parting shot.

    NOOOOOOO!!!!!

    !!!!!!!!!!!! SIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!

We decided that we needed to expand the beginner loop a bit, add a few more rollers and fix that wide sweeping berm.

Here is Alan hard at work

I worked on fixing one of the berms to make it more bowl shaped while Alan directed the dozer for the extended beginner's loop.

I declare this as "Cranky Corner"!

The extended beginner's loop laid out and ready for dirt.

We are going to have another work day tomorrow morning as well (Alan will be out there at 6 am). If you want to see this pump track come to life PLEASE come out and lend a hand. With enough people we can get a large portion of the track finished. We really need your help!!!

I've never been on an actual pump track. I do ride bmx tracks with my son who races and the pump sections are a blast once you get the pump action down. I'll have to give this one a try when I get out that way.

I'm not sure if anyone will be out there on Sunday. I can't make it because it's Father's Day and I promised my wife I would hang out for some quality family time. I know Alan and I are planning on working tomorrow.

Don't let that stop you from doing some work, there is plenty to be done. If you are unsure what needs to be done subscribe to the Yahoo Group and ask for some instructions. Alan and I will respond with what needs work. It's hard to say because it depends on how much progress we make today and tomorrow and the amount of people that show up.

Alan and I will be there for sure. I'm hoping we can get a bunch more people to volunteer tomorrow. Once you see the size of this thing you will get even more excited. It's going to be amazing when it's finished.

Come out and join in the fun of throwing dirt. If you build a set of rollers you can name them "Average Joe's Rolls"!

Why wait? Come out tomorrow and be one of the hero's who built it! Plus you get to ride everything you build. It's a pretty sweet deal!

Good one op, I was so shocked that I almost didn't scroll down to find it was a joke. If you guys still need some dirt moved around, we've got a tractor that can brought out on a trailer.
