    Prescott trails after the rain

How are the trails like 62 Ranch trail, Turley, Salida Gulch, 305, and the area around there after the rain storms today? Looking to ride around 5 but not sure if I'll tear up the trails. Don't wanna be "that guy"....

Well, how were the trails? Those are the only areas I haven't been riding since the rains. 62 and 305 are two of my "go to" trails because they're close to home, but I've been avoiding them.

I've been riding the Thumb Butte, Goldwater, and Emmanuel Pines/Spence Basin areas quite a bit. Those trails are in excellent shape for the most part.

Rode 305 and then played around for a bit. The first 1/8 mile had a couple of soft spots but held up after the rain well.

Don't ride Tr 62 yet, let it dry out.
It looks good at the start but quickly turns to death mud. Went about 10 ft and turned around. It looked like a couple went ahead but trust me, it ain't good to ride so let it dry out please.

From the Walker Rd. trailhead, I take it? Upper 62 from Sen. Hwy for the first 4 miles is pretty good with only a few muddy patches. Must have rained pretty hard up there last night; signs of new (minor) erosion everywhere on 396, 330, and 374. Tread was good though. Made for a good ride, if a bit steamy due to humidity.

    Yes, starting off Walker.
Never even made it to the second gate. Trust me, it's a frigging mess with the clinging mud that stops you dead in your tracks.
I'm guessing "maybe" Sunday would be rideable. It starts off fine and you'll think I'm full of it until you hit that section.

See the thread that Veloborealis created about wet Prescott trail conditions. We go over the general places to avoid right during/after storms. Avoid these and you can ride all day right after rains. Now matter how much you want to ride your "go-to" trail, if it's one of the death-mud trails, find another place to ride.
