    Payson Stampede

The hub-bub is low as far as I can hear. Is anyone planning on attending this 24 Hour race held in Payson on June 18th-19th?

Souonds like you were going to be a 5 person team and couldn't find a female. Look for the Rainbow Unicorn Protectors. We're a 4 person team too.

    Solo

The rest of my usual 4 man crew bailed, so it's solo for me! No singlespeed class, so it's ride with everyone else, since both my MTBs are one gear only. Wouldn't have it any other way! And here's to NO RAIN!!!
You COULD do it on a geared bike, but I wouldn't reccomend it!

Looking for insight on the course. Sounds like all road. Is it worth the journey from northern NM?

I rode the course about a month ago. It is all service road. There is a downhill in the beginning that is completely littered with boulders. It would be super sketchy at night. There are quite a few climbs that are steep and long ( at least they felt long to me) overall I thought the course was very boring and not worth the entrance fee to race it.

so the entire trail is all wide and boring? i dont know what service roads are, but if they are considered roads than i dont think i could spend 100 bucks to ride it.

I'll be out there with a team of 5 others. I had no idea it was service roads though, that's kind of disappointing. It should be fun anyway but that is a lot of money to ride a course that doesn't touch trail. Anyone have an idea of how many people are expected to ride?

I was informed awhile ago that the course would be technical and hard. All road and no singletrack make me sad! I got a fifty dollar off registration coupon as swag at one of the MBAA races, so at least I didn't pay full pop. If nothing else it will make for a good training ride for the E100 later this summer.

I'm wondering what everyone else thought of the Payson ride? I thought it was a decent intermediate loop with some nice elevation changes.

BTW... got this little beauty on one of the downhills.
