OT: Snowbowl next weekend, to ride groomers with kids - will it be a zoo?

Given the good base, was thinking of doing a groomer day next Sunday. Mostly so the kids (4, 7) can get a fun day of lessons in relatively nice weather.

Will it be a crowded mob scene? I don't mind a nice day outside on groomers, but if its 2 hrs to get to the parking lot, classes crowded and no rentals avail, 45 min lift lines for fuggin groomers with no fresh.... well that is just no fun.

    thanks Flagstafricans!

A holiday weekend should be no problem...

    I'd recommend Friday over Sunday...

Kids in lessons = Pow date for you & the wife!

I will be there this Saturday and will try to remember to report back here on how busy it was.

Sunday is always better than Sat for crowds. The weather might be a bit iffy on Sunday which also keeps folks away.

If it's real busy it is a little scary with the kids. If they are just learning and magic carpet riding then probably no big deal if your on bowl side.......look out! I ski right behind my daughter and create a sort of shield but I still feel scared.

thanks everyone. Looks like it will be Friday or mid-next week. Chances are they will get a less-crowded lesson and easier dealing with gear rental too. They are day 6 and a brand noob.

Friday or Monday will be better than this weekend for sure. I recommend renting in town over Snowbowl anytime,,,,,,,faster in and out in the morning and after skiing. Waiting an hour or longer to return ski gear at Snowbowl sucks bigtime, all the shops locally give you until 6 or so to return the rentals. Have fun up there 2 Wheels Good

The lessons for the kiddos includes the rentals at the SkiWee school.

we're going next Wed, doing it all through the school since it will be just me and the 2 monsters. kinda odd they charge for helmets - Durango and Squaw both include them, so, they will have their bike helmets. elrancho thanks for the suggestions, hoping it wont be too bad on a Wed -- if it is, dropping the gear and pointing to kids melting down should speed up the process

Cholla, since you gave me pos rep on April 19, 2009 you are entitled to a bona-fide AZ Snowblow Buddy Pass. Maybe that will ease your bunny slope pain.
