    I have 2 options when I ride.

    1. use the can holder mounted on my bike.
    2. Use the helmet that holds 2 beers with straws going to my mouth.

It's like you're asking me to choose between my children. Can't I have it all?

Depends on the ride. I have my days open, so when I do night rides, I consider it a party hat ride, so I tend to drink more. Typically one before, one during, and a couple after. During the day, almost never. Unless I need a quick medicinal sip from the flask, to dull the pain. ;-) (kidding)

BTW, I failed to put a poll on an AZSF 2010 post (twice actually, alcohol was involved both times), so it had to be turned into a dumb thread, hence the OT: Beer? thread that is now up.

See the AZSF'10 poll and vote...

Your mom hitchhikes? That is DANGEROUS! (kidding!kidding!kidding! couldn't resist)

Just don't drink TOO much, like I did one day. This is why I switched to beer and my flask. I am lactose intolerant, apparently. Or maybe the cow was CoyoteKis intolerant.

Always after a good ride, it motivates me to hammer through those last grueling miles. Rarely before, unless it is in a group setting, or a really casual ride. Always look forward to the West Coast IPA when I get home.

And recently, Modus Hopperandi in a can.

And damn! That cow looks like something you'd see on True Blood. I never get lucky and find anything cool like that on the trail! I would totally make a riding suit out that cow, Buffalo Bill style

If you like the Scotch Ales, Old Chubb (Oskar Blues) comes only in a can. IMHO it blows Kiltlifter away. It is somewhat spendy, but good stuff often is.

I was a fan of the Chub for a while, until a budy likened the taste to Bacon Fat, now I can't drink one without that thought consuming my head.

To each his own. I prefer a more hoppy variety. A few hoppy scotch type ale's that I really love are Bear Republic's Red Rocket Ale, and Green Flash's Hop Head Read. The Red Rocket is described as a "Bastardized Scotch Ale" - which means they turned on the bitter hops. I am a big fan of both. However, neither provide the greased pallate taste of pork fat.

okay... a little late, but... only post-ride, and usually Dogfish Head IPA or something from Deschutes brewery. The single malt goes in a metal flask, and survives the trail ride just fine.

Hey! light beer has its place... whenever I'm doing redneck activities such as floating down a river, or cooking steak on the truck's engine block, light beer just seems the right choice.

To me, light beer is beer that's not a stout, or abbey, or double/tripple. It doesn't mean bud light. That pilsner brewing process has been watered down so much that it's difficult to call it beer. Seriously, you realize they use rice? It's not even decent rice-beer (like from China or Japan). IMO American brewers went way too far in the direction they went.

    Good job! Thr.NR/Fun-Fest & Beers! ! !

Like Horrace-Greely once said: "Go-West young-man, GO WEST!"

Come on out some Thursday Night for the Fun-Fest/Night Ride that my wife and I host.

We do it almost every Thursday (unless our son has a Football game -- like this coming Thursday Night 08/20/09).

There's a fridge in the garage to keep your beverages cold and Pool in the back and Dart-Board in the garage.

We clip-in and pedal-off at 6:30 pm from Estrella Mtn. Ranch.
    * I can get TO Sky-Harbor in 35 - 45 min. tops, but sometimes traffic headed West can be brutal.

For the Brew-Fest post-ride though: Be careful if you're driving home (not to sound too-much like a parent), but the Fun-Fest has multiple-times easily rolled into Friday Morning at times. (Fridays at work can be ugly sometimes. . .).

IM or call e-mail me for directions.

    * We had 15 riders last week, and 23 total for the Post-Ride Bench-Racing, beer-chugging BS session. (and last-week was a Send-Off for Abel who's getting deployed to Iraq for 4 months soon.).

    e-mail = Harvsdomain@yahoo.com

Typically I try and have some PBR's in the fridge and then often other's bring stuff to help-stock it too. NUTTY F-ing FUN!

You can pick up 12 packs of Kilt lifter or Sunbru at the both Four Peaks locations. Too bad they don't can Hop Knot though.

Pynis, I'm right there with you. Modus or West Coast are my post-ride go to beers!! You have excellent taste!

Let me guess the additional 8 were downhillers, who obviouly don't believe in earning their hops.
