Night riding for visitors....?
Coming to town this thursday and with temps possibly in the 90's (I know, I know, that's nothing for you guys), I'm thinking about bringing the lights and maybe getting in a night ride, or at least riding around dusk. If we decide to give it a try, is there a "best area" that visitors should ride?
We're staying off the 101 near W Camelback if that makes any difference.
I've asked before and record some pretty decent info but I'm always willing to hear more options of what trails might be riding the best at the time being? For now, we're riding a portion of the BCT and South Mountain for sure. Brown's Ranch and make Picketpost as well.

Assuming you are as comfortable with terrain at night as you are during the day. If not, then anything in AZ becomes a lot more dangerous. Even an easy ride like Brown's has a lot of cactus that are harder to navigate at night.
Brown's , SoMo, PMP, Hawes, Papago are all legal. Be sure you are in the gates before dark. The McDs are not, which doesnt ever stop me, but you've been warned.

What we have to fear here in Los Angeles while riding at night are skunks!
life is... "All About Bikes"...

Hawes makes for a good night ride and is about a 20-min drive from your location.

He said W Camelback. Assuming that's correct, he's way out on the west side. Not super-accessible to the most common stuff. FINS is out there and, what, Estrella?
Just like a raindrop, I was born to fall.

Ohh snap....missed that "W" in there.....nix Hawes then since that's another 15-20min drive time on top of the 20 min I quoted.

Apparently there is a sign at Brown's now - forbidding night riding.

wow that sucks. I don't worry about getting caught on a bike, but parking there makes you vulnerable. What BS with summer coming... I will report back in the future.
