Need to buy IT Band roller

Can anyone tell me where I can find either a foam roller or one of those rollers you use with your hands (looks like a small pastry/kitchen roller) which is used for stretching muscles....in my case, my IT band around my knee? I'm looking for something local to the valley at the moment.

I left my foam roller up in Flag this weekend and really need another today to get me through the week without my IT tightening up too much. I've never seen them in stores, but thought that perhaps some of you running folks might know of a source.......extra points for east valley locations.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have used a small rolling pin in a pinch. It was a lifesaver for achilles and IT band issues.

I think I did see the foam rollers at the Tribe Multisport booth at a triathlon a couple weeks ago, so I second that suggestion.

Endurence rehab has the rollers and I've found the shorter ones at Target for pretty cheap.

One of the large, hollow pool noodles (4" OD, 2.5" ID) with a piece of 2" PVC tubing slipped inside has a good blend of compliance and rigidity. Be sure to get the white tubing, since it is about 2.5" OD (tubing is sized by the inner diameter).

Most running gear shops seem to have them - if in flag: "Run Flagstaff"

I bought mine from Run AZ. One next SMC on Ray and 40th and one by the Gilbert Lifetime Fitness. Might want to call first to see if they still have them!

J I have one, and you can have it! I bought it two years ago for my IT band, from a sports physical therapist. Never use it. It is yours for free!

Typing this from my blackberry, moved yesterday and no comp access yet, but if you haven't already found one, hit me up in an emali on FB which will send me a text notification. Still in community, across from tennis courts. Can literally throw it over the fence to you.
