Need advice for quick ride in east mesa

I'm rather new to mountain biking here in the valley. I live in north Phoenix, but tomorrow I have the wondeful pleasure of taking my mom who's visiting to some flea market in east mesa. Figured it'd be a perfect time to ditch my mom and. try a new trail out in the southeast.

I'll have time for about a 2 hour ride, and while I'm sure I could find something by looking it up on the internet, I thought I'd go for some live advice from the Arizona MTB community. Just FYI I have a Jet9, so I won't want to be jumping off any cliffs, but other than that I'm game for anything.

Hawes trail system......corner of Red Mtn 202 and Power....from there, head north one mile to Thomas/Power.....Walgreens on NW corner...park there.....ride east into houseing development, just after canal....head north on single track.....the loop is about 13 miles on the perimeter, 1300ft gained on the loop

Look at sticky on the forum for details...maps, gpx, etc....plenty of variations inside of the loop if you don't want the whole enchilada.

    Have fun.

    Watch out for Sabertooth Tigers

They like folks who hunt for Tequila....

    You've been warned.....

    Hawes.

For quick connect park at the canal towards the end of N. Power rd., on the left just before it hits the river and turns into Bush Hwy. 2 hours can be had easily with no guide, and it's not hard to find your way back.

Where on earth is this flea market?

Wal Mart, Signal Butte and 60, Garden Department.

Let Mom browse for a couple more hours and hit K-Trail, Gold Canyon.

    Thanks all!

Went to Hawes, was pretty cool. I'll have to head back when I have more time to explore everything. Quite different scenery than T100 which is my usual stomping ground these days.

The K trail was just as close, and from what I have read, It looks pretty gnarly!
