My Kingdom For 2 Tubes !!

rode the desert classic on sunday morning and all seemed to be going good.suffered a slow leaker on the front tire.one of those that are easier to stop and pump up than take the time to replace the tube.blew out the rear tube shortly after the water tanks on the way out.in the process of pumping up the new tube with my less than adequate mini pump, the presta valve head snapped off! so much for only having one spare tube.so it's time to push the bike out from trail post 22 to pima parking lot.2-2.5 miles, seem like forever.never been that tired or dehydrated before.took about an hour to get back.
Thanks to those few that i saw on the way for asking if i needed anything.my foolish pride answered right away that i was fine thanks.IDIOT ME!thankfuly i made it back to the car.went to circle k and chugged gatorade from the fountain.sweetest thing i ever tasted!
moral of the story: be more than prepared for the ride and don't be afraid to say "help"!

Any ride can be a deathmarch.

In the summer any ride can quickly become a death march with one or two mechanicals or flats, throw in a little pride and it can get down right religious.

We all need to be better prepared when riding in these 100 degree plus temps.
