    My first ever night ride.

like what the title says it was my very first at T100 west side of I51. I had my MS900 and a torch light that i didn't need. the MS was bright enough but it was better to have it mounted on the helmet like everyone says here. but i might just get a second set, maybe. i had a blast.

Would it be appropriate to say "welcome to the dark side!"

I'll be doing a run on DC tonight if anyone wants to join.

7ish at the ramadas. I'll be on a black SS.

I think the rangers lock the gate into the parking lot @ 7 so make sure you get there before then. You can still get out no problem.

That Magicshine is great. I'd order one right now if I didn't just dump a bunch of money into a new wheel build and new bar and stem.

BTW, helmet mount is the only way to go for single light imo, as you've figured out. I tried mine of the bars but not being able to see where you are actually looking makes turns at speed too difficult.

That photo is awesome! You can really see how it lights up the path. Look at how much light it throws out compared to Sam's who was right behind me.

The Magic Shine 1400 on the bars combined with the Magic Shine 900 on the helmet is damn near perfect for night riding. Once you get use to the pattern there really isn't much that can sneak up on you. The other cool side effect to having a helmet light is that it forces you to look ahead more (which is what you should be doing in the day time too).

I had a freaking blast tonight guys... we must do this again!

I agree, two lights is the best set-up. But contrary to public opinion, If I only use one light, I like it mounted to the bars.

Yabut! You sit on a throne of lies! Helmet mount is the way to go. You can't ride to what you can't see, and fixed lights on bars, don't look around curves and switchbacks.

Helmet on the light is the way to go imo. since i don't have the helmet mount i just put in on the bars. it was limited what i see when i have the light on the bar but when i tried in on the helmet i can see further. either i'll get my second MS with the helmet mount or i'll just get the helmet mount alone. But i had a blast on my first ride no matter what. btw nice pic U2metoo.

Wouldn't the helmet get in the way of your light?

Just wondering if anyone knows if LBS sells a universal mount for helmet to mount my MS like at Performance or you have to purchase it that sells MS like at Geomans?.

I think you can use a Dinotte or Lupine mount too since the MagicShine mount is compatible with those. I just got everything from GeomanGear.com.
