MTB trip in early May - Sedona? Flag? Prescott? Looking for advice

    Hi guys,

We're planning an MTB trip in Arizona in early may and we'd like to know which place would/will be rideable at this time of the year. We'll be here for 8 days. We thought of settling in Flag because there are quite a lot of trails in the neighborhood, but after reading about this town, it looks like May could be a bit early for most trails. We're now thinking of renting something in Sedona and using this town as a hub to ride the trails that will be rideable in Flag and maybe Prescott.

I'm looking for your insights on the following :
    - Is riding in Flag in May a possibility or we'd better forget about it?
    - Is it a good idea to settle in Sedona to be in a 1-hour radius of Flag and Prescott vs settling in Flag?
    - Do you have other suggestions?

The goal is to maximize time on bike and minimize time spent driving/commuting.

Our gang is ranging from intermediate to advanced/expert and we'll be riding full sus trailbikes, if it can help.

    Thanks a lot,

    Jerome from Montreal

If it's a relatively dry winter then most of the Flagstaff trails will probably be a go in May. Sedona is more central if you're also planning to ride in the Prescott area. If night life is part of the equation you would probably enjoy downtown Flag over Sedona.

-riding in flag in may most likely will be perfect.
-sedona hub is a good idea, imo great may riding also. flag is 45min drive to trails for me.
-check back in early spring for condition details.
