Elden Lookout Road will be temporarily closed beginning Wednesday for routine maintenance work.

According to information from the U.S. Forest Service, the work will take about one to two weeks. A barricade and "road closed" sign will be posted just above the Lower Oldham Trailhead starting Wednesday morning.

Crews for the city have begun construction on the Inner Basin Waterline. Visitors in the Schultz burn area should be cautious of heavy equipment in the area. Construction is expected to last through mid-November.

Rocky, did you borrow my 1988 Fat Tire Tales and Trails book? I'll be hanging out at the Elden Y practicing my secret handshakes and trying to look like a local.
