If 9 speed shifters are that hard to get, everything I own will eventually become a singlespeed.

Not a case of them being hard to get, on a budget, trying to save some money, if someone has some old ones laying around....get off my back...

There are a bunch of bike shops in town that probably have them - probably even one close to where you live.

I have some 9 spd DEORE shifters that have been sitting in my closet for over a year. When I bought my bike last year I had the shop swap the DEORE shifters with SRAM shifters. I just like the feel of SRAM better. the DEORE shifters have never seen use outside the bike shop. Let me know if you are interested.

Keep an eye out on Chainlove

    http://www.chainlove.com

Over the past few days I have seen quite a few Shimano XT and Sram X-9 sets pop up for a good price.

They sell one item at a time and change the item frequently. It's socks now.
