You don't have to be religious to "make it rain".

Indeed, you don't. After all, the Chinese used cloud seeding in Beijing to try and clean up the noxious air before the Olympics.

I don't know about all this, there is definitely a bigger picture than what you or I want or think our dry parched lands need, nature is going to do it's thing regardless of what we think is right. Truth is the forests need to burn a whole lot more then they need rain, not that I love the dust but our management of our forests has been nothing but one giant failure over and over again, it's way off balance and maybe now nature is just trying to fix all of our mistakes.

Really Are you implying that you'd rather see catastrophic wildfire and decimation of the forest and resultant, cleared slopes and erosion of soils, choking of streams and loss of habitat? Sure, there's been mismanagement but there are several entities besides the forest circus trying to rectify the wrongs of a century of fire suppresion.

Anyway, regardless of divine intervention and the bigger picture that I can't quite see, I'd rather see some rain and healthy trees that can do battle with bark beetles.

Rockman, of course I selfishly do not want to see the forest I play in burn but the harsh reality is things are going to happen at some point whether we like it or not. The fearful Human ego trying to control what is natural has proven time and time again to have devastating effects, throwing the natural balance of things completely off. What we want in the big picture won't really matter in the long run. Have you ever heard the Navaho word Hozho?

No, but I have a friend that just got back from there. Does that count?

No doubt, we've f**k'd the planet up good, but like the OP, I'd like to see some rain. Maybe this weekend, eh?

LOL! Sorry, just some deep thoughts, not saying I'm right or wrong. I would like some dust free riding too, hopefully this weekend but I'm not holding my breath or anything.

Big lightning and steady rain at my place last night. Looks like it has built up quite a bit in last hour to the NE of me. Let's see if we get round 2 tonite.

Raisingarizona, what's it doing up in Flag?
