KY Camp water sources for AES Long route

I'm trying to get down for this ride. Maad said there is water at KC, but how far into the route is that? I don't drink too much water, so would a 100oz be enough for the long with a refill?

Also any notion of an average to slightly slow time for the longer course?

CB, you hit KC 2x...once Southbound, once Northbound. 100oz should be plenty. 5-7 hrs for slightly slow... 10 if your name is Arturo.

You will hit it at approx mile 15 and again at mile 32. Give or take.

Sweet!! I'm only 'slightly slow' at 6 1/2 hrs.

As for water at KC, there are two sources there. (This also goes for those doing the short course, even though KC is slightly off-route by 0.25 mile). As you approach the buildings going southbound, there is a hose spigot on the right in front of the caretakers residence. I skip this one, not a huge fan of hose water when a better option is available. The other water source is a faucet on a stand alone sink located behind the building on the rider's left, there's also a restroom back there and picnic table.

CB, you could probably start the race with one bottle & easily make KC. 5 miles of AZT, then ~10 miles of fast moving dirt roads get you to KC.

Hey guys, is the dirt road off Highway 83 passable by a passenger car? I'm ready - bike, bag and gps are loaded. I will be heading down and back tomorrow, ping me if you want to carpool.

Should be fine, may have to go slow on a couple short bits, but my car can easily make it.

If you are talking about the short drive to the TH you should be fine. I took a Kia Rio down that without issue 2 years ago.

It was a nice day and great ride. Camped on Friday night and had frost Sat Morning. Sun burned it off and it was nice all day. Cool, but not cold either. Really cool to ride through grass so deep it was hitting that handle bars. Then great evening drinking beers and telling stories after the ride.
