This is Helmetless Jason. We haven't met, but it's a small town.
Word is he came into the shop the day after the Whiskey saying, "Change this thing [Karate Monkey] to a singlespeed... I was getting passed all damn day by people on singlespeeds." We got a laugh out of that one.
Just wondering what his first impressions of riding SS have been.
Yes, yes... small town and we've heard you joined the dark side.
Wondering how you're liking the new setup on the Karate Monkey.
I LOVE IT AND WILL NEVER GO BACK. I ride stronger, faster and get better traction than I ever had before. I love the hard out of the saddle climbing that opens my lungs, the lighter weight and quiet roll. All my fav local trails in P-town are better than they ever were.
Well, I'll guess that you now have a Titus to add to your collection...
Funny about the helmet, I actually borrowed it from Rich for the race. When I pick up my new wheel from Ed, I'll see if he will order me a decent helmet.
How about we grab Lee and hit the trails soon. Charlie got his lefty back and Brian is ready too.
I'm just wondering if is possible to fix a Titus X ...congrats Matt
Jason..watch out for Matt he'll "Fix" you right up
trust me I know
as for that helmet, ER might be a nice place to work but it sucks to visit if you get MY drift.
Right on. I'll only let Matt talk to me about the "Fix" when I can get him out on the trails. I'm starting the pre- rides for the Show Low White Mountains ride. Thinking about the 35miler on my new SS set-up. Anyone else up for it, let me know; I wouldn't mind driving.

Amen!
You think you notice the quieter ride now... just wait, it get's worse. You'll start tuning in to just how loud and clangy geared riders are behind you and you'll have to permanently bite your tongue to keep yourself from trying to convert them just so you don't have to listen to them behind you sounding like the Clampetts on their way to Beverly Hills.

HaHaHaHa!! I'll find out during the White Mountains Tour. 5 months of SS conditioning should do me some good.
