    It's About Time...

This old man finally decided to see what all these young DH whippersnappers were raving about... so I decided to pull the trigger on a 2011 Rocky Mountain Flatline World Cup! It would not have been possible if it weren't for the Great Guys at Rage Cycles - Peter, Curley, Mike, and everyone else were just fantastic in making my dream of DH'ing a reality.

I am hoping to 'pop my DH cherry' this coming weekend!

Probably do a few Geronimo runs (because I'm familiar with it) first to get the suspension dialed in.

I saw it at Rage on Saturday and wanted to do unspeakable things to it. Looks very good. Just take it on Holbert for the first run and get that first scratch out of the way!!

As I recall... I 'scare' you when you just follow me on the El Guapo... so you better use your 'Depends' as a chamois liner when following the Rocky!

    I'm Not Worthy!!!

Finally took the new Rocky out for a shake-out ride and the bike performed with excellence! Me on the other hand, just need to get used to sitting back and letting the bike do it's thing.

It was me, theGreenEGg, MJRDR, Jibro, and dunerinaz shuttling the runs today. Trails were Super Tacky and we got 'First Tracks' on Geronimo and upper Holbert but we didn't do the Holbert section after Dobbins because there were about 100 hikers heading up for the Summit Challenge. We ended HAB'ing up Dobbins and riding the road over to Kiwanis.

So we ended up riding Geronimo, Kiwanis, and then Natty down and over to 24th st. Popped my Kiwanis and 24th St. Cherries today!

I've only got a few pics but some video action should be forthcoming.

Can't wait for the next DH run to get the bike (and me) dialed-in!

Nice ride, nice video. Looks like Pat did alright.

I gotta know how you keep that Chesty so still. My bounces around like a Fing rubber ball. Pisses me off. I tried it higher so I could get my pack's sternum strap under it and that didn't seem to help much.

I just use the chest strap to hold it up. I put the strap right behind the GoPro screw. It sounds like you have already tried this but I would also try to slide the chest strap of your pack up. I don't know what kind you have but Camelbaks chest strap is able to slide where it connects to the shoulder straps. If you slide it up it should make it a little more secure.

I also take most of my weight off the seat when riding technical sections. I have noticed when I get lazy and sit more that my footage is so bouncy I can't even use it.

That's also a good point 'cause I get lazy quite often as well... I'll have to pay attention next time 'cause I can feel it when it bounces. I'm pretty sure it bounces even when my butt is off the seat but not positive...

I tend to stay off the saddle on those trails too. I recorded Geronimo, Holbert and our last (fourth) Gnar Gnar run but haven't gotten anything processed yet. Maybe when I get that put together you can decide if it seems bouncy or not.

My biggest issue, besides forgetting to turn the camera on half the time, like on the second Geronimo run where I actually was carrying some speed for a change, is forgetting to tuck the hydration tube out of the way.

Nice vid, good job of getting RM filmed. Nice first runs for the RM. Awesome weather and rides that day really good chunk. JiBro nice lines down 24th street.
