How's the snow on Mt Lemmon?

As I posted in my ride thread, I'm interested in doing a ride in the Santa Catalinas next week down in Tucson. (Bugs/Green Valley/Molino Basin/Milagrosa). Probably Tuesday.

    Two questions:

How high up can I go?

Anyone want to go with me? I need at least one ride partner.

You will fine starting at Bugs and going down from there. A few people have done bugs in the last few weeks and there wasn't that much snow. Plus it is melting as we speak.

I always forget. Is Bugs before Green Valley? Is Green Valley also doable this time of year?

You mean Green Mountain. Green Valley is a town full of old people which is doable this time of year if your into chicks with walkers. Green Mountain is above Bugs on the mountain and is not ridable this time of year.

Green Mountain. Gotcha. Thanks. I was thinking I didn't quite have that right, but Green Springs didn't sound right either.

Soooo now I just need some ride partners.

    Tuesday anyone?

Thanks Chad..... I might join you on the techy ride too. We'll see how tired I am after that little downhill ride. Details?

3 hours of riding with fish tacos afterward. It is an uphill battle, you vs the rock, then downhill battle, you vs the rock. The route is prolly the hardest, technically-challenging trail in southern Arizona. Some people call it a hiking trail, I call a gift from above.

That techy up and down riding is really fun..... and taxing (My romp through the Dells in Prescott with Enel about killed me). Not sure I'll have the legs for that especially after a long day on Mt. Lemmon and with my 39 lb bike.

    We'll see.

Ok. Gotta pull this Tuscon ride together now. I'm still definitely planning on riding La Milagrosa from Bugs down tomorrow, Tuesday February 1st.

I'm thinking of leaving Phoenix around 7:00 with a meet up Time in Tucson around 9:00 at the Aqua Caliente Park. Shuffle bikes, get them loaded in a couple vehicles and drive up to Bugs.

I have three or four other riders so far that have expressed interest and hope you can all make it. Please give me a call tonight so we can work out details. Anyone else want to join us please post up here or send me a PM. (Remember: This is a long technical, hard ride. The pace will be moderate and I'm not planning on dropping anyone... but don't want to babysit a novice whose in over their head either.)

Tae (you called me today.....or are you one of the above listed user names?)

If you're name is on this list and you've decided not to do the ride, please let me know that too.

BTW: I've only done Molino Basin to La Milagrosa once with a group of really nice, experienced Tucsonians and Phoenicians like three years ago so am not an expert on guiding this ride by any means. Hopefully one of the above listed riders can keep us on the right path.
