    hawes parking

    is the Park and Ride lot shown on trailforks for Hawes a legit parking spot for MTB riders to use?

    Yes, and so is Walgreens at Power and Thomas. Just be sure and park in the rear of the store.

    Not sure where TF points you to park but if it's a canal pull-off on N Power Rd. thats now gated and unaccessible. You park on either side of the road near the TH drop-in or Walgreen's

    Park and Ride is legit. There's a trail from the end of the parking lot that takes you right to Las Sendas. From there you can take wild things to Hawes trail or peddle up to Diamond point.

    We parked on the main road, across from the little parking lot, just up the hill from the trailhead sign. We're not local...drove around a while like "whaaaa???", saw something about Walgreens and figured that was wrong, finally saw the trail marker behind the guard rail and just pulled over and parked. Some riders we met near the trailhead warned us about smash and grab, figured it was safer on the main road than in the little parking lot. Anyway, place is a BLAST!
