Good time on SoMo this morning

As usual, a lot of failure, a few first cleanings, a couple nice OtBs, some more failure. Typical day out on SoMo.

First time in a long time we've made it all the way to the Waterfall. It's been so damn hot that we don't get much further than the Mormon/National intersection.

Two of the ugliest sunsabeetches you'll see on the trail:

Drew's got a boatload of images to upload

Both of those crashes would have probably been way worse if you were clipped in. I don't think you would've been able to step off on the plank like you did.

It was a fun ride where good friends helped each other out along the way. We laughed and enjoyed each others company and that's not gay at all.

Surely not as lame as you blowing up my phone with your exploits knowing I was at work. And I notice you didn't include the shadow pic of you musketeers holding hands.

Hey, don't be like that. How dare you get on a happy thread like this and spread your jack booted hatred?
Just because we wanted to share our happy ride with you, that's no excuse to be bitter.

Actually, part of the reason I decided to try flats was because I was popping out and could get out of my SPDs so easy I figured it wouldn't be much different. Well, minus all the slashing of the shins and calves from the pins. That's the worst part. I've only been on them for maybe a half dozen rides and already I don't mind not being clipped in. Only a couple occasions have I had to stop climbing because I wasn't clipped in and in those situations I probably would've popped out of my SPDs too so it's a draw.

My new shin guards should be here shortly. Hopefully the pins don't shred them.

And I am pretty sore today. Palm, ass (from a fall on Thursday), hip, right toes (tagged some rocks on the way down National and hyperextended them)... not my best riding day. Hmmm... I seem to say that a lot

So mountain biking is ALL about Friends, Exercise, Helping Others, Sharing Knowledge, and Socializing. I find that having GREAT friends around only adds to the already magical experience of mountain biking. Here are a few photos from my personal collection from Sundays ride with GREAT friends along with tips!!!

Know where you're going! Most trailheads have maps. Take advantage of our amazing trail maps:

You should always know who your friends are!

    The Good:

    The Bad:

The Ug......Friends don't call each other names:

If a fellow rider is struggling on a obstical, lend them a hand. We were ALL newbies at some point!

Encouragement! When someone reaches a goal or benchmark, give them a high-five!

If someone breaks, be the first to help out. "You need a pump?"

Stop and to take it all in. Know you're on a mountain with GREAT friends and not at work dealing with the grind! Mountain biking is fun and friends make it better!!!!

STOP IT!!! You've got everyone 'gushing' TEARS of Joy!!! I see a new sitcom in the works... "Three and a Half Men"
