Great job of capturing the feel of the place.

Sure....The Goat Camp DH is located in the White Tank Mountain County Park way out west of Phoenix. Here is my MAP of the short DH loop we rode on Sunday. There is also a longer version that adds more technical climbing up Willow Canyon to make it a full meal deal. If you don't want to do the tech DH on Goat, there is a great out and back ride to the top of the technical DH. Bring your climbing legs, it's a 2000+ foot climb in 7 miles to get to the top. No free rides to hte top!

Direction to the park and more park info HERE

That was a super fun ride for me even on my Sultan. I rode a lot more than I thought I would. The big wheels rolled the big chunk pretty well, except for the really steep loose stuff at the top. Need to ride GC more than every other year. The camera is a Panasonic Lumix with a 10x optical zoom. Good little camera.

The only pic of me on the ride.

And that might be the best pic. With some background it really helps with the scale. And brings the gnar into perspective.

As I recall, Willow used to be the way to go before that upper part of Mesquite got groomed.

Yep, Willow used to be the way to go, and it was really technical before the reroute up Willow in 2004. Goat camp used to be a an all day epic before all the new trail construction between 2004 and 2006. The worst was the 200' vertical HAB down an up the big canyon before the DH. Those were the good old days!
