... and if we just ... Globe Monday Memorial Day Shuttles

Planning a day trip for this Monday the 31st. We will be leaving Tempe area around 6AM and returning that evening. We will be shredding 6shooter, Fright train, and Ice house. Right now we have a small group of 3 for sure. We got Me, Swamp Thang, LCB (Little Chris Blauvelt) ready to rock. We are most likely going to take one truck and have room for a few more. If enough peeps are interested we may take another truck or the Van/trailer. We will be asking for gas and split driver duties, so we all get some shred. PM for details if you are fo sho. No maybes!

OK here's the dillio. So far we have these definites: Greffster, ABC, Kubo, Swamp Thaang, CAB, Jason, Jibro, and Kit Boy. that makes 8. Anyone else is welcome. We are meeting ABC's office parking lot at 5:30am sharp, to be on the road by 6:00am. Please don't be a selfish lagger We will decide on driving/shuttle arrangements at that time, once we know who is really going. Address: 2011 E 5th Street, Tempe 85281. SE corner of Smith & 5th. ABC and I will bring lunch for the crew. Post up by Sunday at noon whether you're an addition or a subtraction to the trip, so we know how much food/drink to bring. THE STOKE IS ON BABY!!!!!!!!!

I think well just drive up . I hardly ever ride up from the valley with anyone as I am a toker and we could catch any overflow with my truck. if any or hop in and ride the van after the first run Besides no reason for me to drive down to tempe when I am already 30miles closer to globe driving from home. We may even head up tomorrow to ride on sunday also.

Clock, we could do a AJ pick up for you and Daniel if you guys do not go up Sunday. Anyway way that it works out for everyone. My main driver is out of town this weekend, working on getting a back up, maybe. So most likely we will be swapping biatch duty. Just wanted to get the most shredding and least driving as possible.

For the most part yes. I have only been getting 4" out of my 160mm fork out there as I haven't adjusted it for globe yet. No issues

Also If you have the skills you can rock the trails on a hardtail.

We do. where have you been? We had to put wheelie bars on the van, due to so many bikes weighing down the trailer.

I still have this on my radar, but if I head up I'll prolly need to meet up with y'all in Globe. I'll need to split a little early.

If I did that, does this lot at the split of Ice House Canyon Rd and Six Shooter Canyon Rd. work for ya?

If it does, do you have an estimate what time you'll be there?

It takes me 90 minutes from house to get there from Ahwatukee.

I'll post up if I can't make this work.

    Idea!

Kubo, Is it just you? We need to know what vehicle/vehicles to bring.

We could do a pick up off 60 and SIGNAL BUTTE RD @ the In Out. Would be there around 6:15.

Good times up there yesterday and today. Yesterday Mikey and I spent almost 5 hours digging and benching in the upper section of Ice House while Clock and Dan went down Freight Train and then up Ice House from the bottom and cleared more trees along the way.

Trail is in good condition as Clock said, most the trees are quick go arounds now unlike last week, but over all about 95% clear and much smoother than last week. (The lower road is still a nasty m'fer)

Take note of the hipper and the booter that some of you hit last week, they have changed so don't go into them hot or blind

    Have some fun shred

Nice! Yeah freight is uber fast way faster than last year.

I gotta say Ice house is in the best shape it has been in years.Especially after SixSixtySix and mike-e's extra work on Sat.We only cut out and moved around 6 or so trees and made that roller over towards the bottom.

I can't wait to see everyones picd/footage from the last few days up there!

Its amazing what can get done with a little man power and a couple weekends.

For the past couple years all the focus has gone to Six Shooter, which after finding the FS Master Management plan for Pinal Peak doesn't surprise me as its the only trail up there that has 100% "Service Level" from the FS because its a "National Recreation Trail". Every other trail gets 50% service level meaning that work to those trails only has to happen from the FS once every 5 years.

I am hoping that the pink markers that popped up last week on Ice House mean we are in that year where they are going to do some work, otherwise we'll just have to keep at it until its done

I have a feeling they are going to be working on both icehouse and sixer. Sixer really really needs it . hopefully they continue down the hill where the left off last year which was from top to big hike a bike.

But at ther rate its been going the clearing will be all done before they roll thru.

We are going up tomorrow for a few runs and we are going to run lower telephone down to ccc and see if its a viable option for bypassing the old ice house road for changes of pace everyonce in awhile. I have a love hate relationship with it

That would be cool. BTW I the occasional red painted rock on FT were super helpful.

Problem is if you don't keep the riding line to the far left or right its fruitless. Its fun now if your fresh plenty of place to take flight and ride a wall but as the day wears on the road becomes a crash waiting to happen.

We at one time did clear a nice single track line but by the next weekend 4x4 quads erased almost all traces. There is still for the most part a line . Really there are just a few bad spots and with some creativity we can use the speed to get up above the road for portions. But if lower telephone is mainly single track or scrub riding like freight train then my ambition to clean up the road again will be diverted.

Man, nice set of pics. I think you captured the proper perspective of how big that ladder drop is.
