I'm sure these nuts would mess with the mtb trails too.

Trying to injure other trail users is not cool.

I posted he is a danger to society. I hope the court system makes an example of him for other echo terrorists. Terrorists are scum no matter what variety.

Sounds like he did much more damage to the forest than anyone riding on singletrack could ever do.

    nutjob vigilante

That dude is dangerous. I don't care about his political opinions. But stringing cables across legal trails as a booby trap isn't cool, and he could kill someone.

for anyone who isn't already familiar with drunkcyclist.com, it's probably NSFW for most.

Oh come on drunk cyclist is pretty tame. It's just a blog. You don't have to click on any of the links.

As for Mr. Protiva, he's always had a bit of a screw loose. I'm friends with both his son and his sister (both avid mtn bikers by the way). I'm guessing he's not been taking his meds and will no doubt spend a bit of time in jail. The time he hoisted a boat and himself up a flagpole at Wapatki while protesting the 1st Iraq war was a good one. It's too bad that someone that cares about the forest and animals as much as he does has to go out like this.

No, your right it's not for everyone. Porn might be legal but that doesn't mean Big Brother will approve.
