    Finally, an Upgrade!

Thanks to the Titus Garage Sale, I picked up my new frame today. The price was obscene (obscenely low). Now I just have to wait for my new fork to come in!

Nope, it is aluminum, but they did have a titanium EG demo bike for 2999.

Yeah.. that one was my size too! If I'd not started down the path to DW Link
'Homerdom' I'd seriously considered it! The EG climbs really well for a 6"
travel bike. It was still there when I left around noon.

Lots of drool worthy stuff there today for sure! They're getting out of the road
frame business 'cept for custom Ti and Exogrid work.

Was hoping for some road frames there today, nothing really in my size..

Hard to drop that kinda coin on a Road Bike, when a Ti EG is sitting
right beside if for less than $500 more!

that's a sweet looking frame, i think you will build it into something very very nice and rock The Goat! What color you gonna bling it with - it will match anything! (gawd I feel so meterosexual!)

what sorta stuff\prices did they have? Wanted to make it, but things came up.

Gold. Is there any question? (Josh if there is seriously any question, PM me. I'll set you straight)

And yes, you are metrosexual. Oh, and I enjoyed our date last Tuesday.

stop crowding me, and him. Its The Handsome - it could be blue, or red, or black. All would be fabulous. Just cause I take you out to see hot sweaty men and talk like a little girl does not mean you can tell me how to dress.

I think what the Handsome really needs is...a sweater!

Well, for the record, I don't pay to see those kind of sweaty men. Although the club seats were nice, thanks. My date was more interested in the stairs, but she did have a good time with your 2 dates...

I hate to disappoint, but I was thinking black....I guess I am not that into fashion...

I am looking for a pewter King headset, black rims and hubs, thomson seatpost and stem, Easton handlebar,

The aluminum frames were going for between 699 and 799. It was hard to decide between this and the Super Moto, but ultimately the medium demos just feel a bit cramped to me and this was the last large frame left for EG and SM.

I also bought a WTB headset for 10 bucks that I thought would go well with the frame, but for some reason, the headtube is so massive on this thing, it will look weird.

Finally I bought some XT shifters for 15 bucks. The deals were out of control!

I think your shifter is a bit loose. Also, I think you're missing the front wheel.

(I'm officially jealous. I was looking at the EG, but could not justify the costs. I'm curious, what did you pay for the frame [if you care to share]?)

Yeah, yeah. It is coming along. I have it all together now except for two pieces, a front wheel and a brake post adaptor. I hate to part with my old rear end, which is old school Shimano Saint (bomb proof for my fat butt and terrible skills) so a new wheelset is out. However it is proving to be difficult to find a wheel that somewhat resembles my rear.

I paid 799 for it. I don't mind telling. Yeah, it is still a stupid amount of money for a frame, but what the hell, it is probably the last bike I am buying for like 15 years and I used half of the parts from my old bike.

If I could only get a front wheel and a post mount adapter to run a bigger rotor, I could get rolling. No one seems to have a simple through axle front wheel for sale that doesn't ask me to hand over my first born as payment.

I bought a Kona Coiler Deluxe for $599 (or was it $699?), but would have easily spent the extra coin for a Titus. I do love my bike, but really coveted a Titus.

    That's a lot for a frame?

That's a steal for a frame like that.

I am coming off a Haro Extreme X2 that I bought for 800 bucks complete. While I love this new bike, it feels a little wrong to spend so much when so much is wrong with the world these days. Granted, I did upgrade a few things over the years as I destroyed stuff being stupid, but that would have happened with expensive parts too.

My Haro was cheap, but it worked and took a severe beating for four years. It pedaled pretty darn well and the frame weighs exactly the same as the EG with a coil shock and it is a pound lighter with an air shock.

I know that the EG will be a far superior bike, but I will miss my old one.

Alright, here it is. Done. I rode on National today and this thing was a freight train on the downhills. I was probably pissing off hikers something fierce.

To the usual suspects, I hope we can keep breaking it in soon!
