I talked to him last week, I guess he's been busy.
We shuttled with him last Sunday.

Sounds good! Why are you off tomorrow? I feel like just riding around somewhere, super light urban stuff if it clears up! If not hopefully this up weekend clears up. Hey did you see that new Lapierre (sp) DH bike? Looks sweet! But I still want that Jedi.

    I wish...

I'd be down to roll after I got off work.
    The Jedi is sick.
So, what is this I hear about you ordering something...?

    Haven't seen the Lapierre yet.

Yeah that Jedi really got to be in my stable. I just gotta figure out how I can swing the dough for that sweet as frame. After work sounds good. Where is a good place to go? I'll more than likely have the big bike to take around.

Yeah you'll see definitly new in my stable here soon hopefully near the end of the month. No it ain't the Jedi, man I wish.

I'm up for some Urban when it dries out...

I went downtown the other night and scoped some fun urban stuff, especially the parking garage with 10 stories of spiral staircases

The Jedi is dope, I was looking into one too, but decided its too much bike and there is no chance of pedaling it. The sticker shock is a little much too...

    Whoa...that's wild.

The only thing I'm worried about in Tempe are campus 5-0.
Plus you can get busted down there for pedaling w/o a light.

Downtown, all the construction could make things tough. But I'm down to check it out.
There is always the spot that azdog and I sessioned. Good stuff there. Bunch of offices all close together.

I was thinking about it and I remember that I never drove down there for riding, just pedaled.

I meant, anywhere to park where you don't have to pay...

I think the meters are 25 an hour and they might not run after 6pm.

We could meet at Patriots Park, bunny hop some homeless people and then continue from there

Well I already started breaking down my 07' 575. Need the parts for the new bike that is coming in about a week or so. The only thing I got is the King. Wish I had parts to realy put on the Matador so that I can parade it around to sell it.

Well with the 07' it flex alot in the rear under all my fat weight on it. Espically when bombing down National or Mormon. Plus I can run a 160mm on the 08' and not raise the BB to high since it is lower than the 07'. Basicly it is the little quirks that need to be fix in the 575 finally happened IMO. Stiffer, Lighter but still Burlier but still holds on what made the 575 so great. I had the opportunity to upgrade and I took it. Even though I can't ride it the way I want to yet at least it's waiting for me and not the other way aroung.

Here is a little preview to my new jewlery that I just got.

Anybody down to Play some Paintball in the near future. Come to find out Mark use to play alot and so have I. Maybe we can get the Team Dirt-teabags to get ona field and play against each other!!! Be a hell of a good time. I may have a extra gun up by then and the rest can definitly rock the rentals at the field. So anyone down like "Two flat tires"?
Sick rig, but not what I'm looking for.

My stable will be: Morphine, Fat Chance and then the new bike. Everything else, gone. I'm still not sure what to get yet.
Which is why I'm going to the shop.

I think its safe to say the ride is cancelled. Still raining over here and there is more on the way.

Damn, don't you guys have pm's....ahahah. Doodoo that X-ray shows that you have a lot of ear wax! Anyways I'm leaning toward the covert now. It's a tad (mucho) cheaper than the 575. Plus then I can be one of those dreaded transition kids. I need to put more air in the stumpy next time we urban.

Karpiel Armageddon is on eBay right now.
The Apocalypse is just a frame sitting in my closet. Probably gonna stay there.
RMX is going up on eBay as soon as I get the derailleur hanger from Rocky.

That's gonna be a good buy for someone...

I was thinking of hitting the Pig.

Come to the Transition dark side....

Coverts a nice XC/AM rig, there is an orange one hanging in Cactus with your name on it

It looks like we are gonna get rained out, but I may head out later anyways once it breaks. I am out of work in 10 min, so give me a ring if you guys still want to meet up.

The covert was one of the alternate bikes I was looking at when I did my shopping for the 575. I test rode (parking lot) fish's covert and it just did not grab me in a way a long travel XC/Trail/AM bike should. Actually it's a bit shorter that the 575 so That is why I took it off my list. Plus the geo. was not what I was looking for. It's a great bike, it just didn't tickle my fancy. Oh another factor is that I had a bit of experience with bombing a 575 down mormon and it won me over pretty good. I just couldn't see the covert doing the same thing.

I was looking at the Bottlerocket...but Brendt gave me some info that kinda talked me out of it - not the right kinda bike for what I want to do.

Covert sure is purdy. White frame with white wheels.

But for some reason, none of the aftermarket hangars will fit.
I finally got Rocky to send me one directly last week, should be here really soon.

    Thanks for the offer.

That was my plan if I were to go with the Covert. Just blast everything white. Grips, Pedals, Chain guide, Handlebars, brake levers, seat, stems, headset spacers, cranks, Anything else?? It would look pretty sic.

The NSB (north shore billet) hanger is machined and they are right down from Rocky. Rockies is pot metal. No problem, Later.

    MMMMM all white bike....

    Fish's latest concoction....

Btw, his Covert was wack, he had some weird old Fox OEM shock off an old Specialized on it and a Manitou Minute fork. The thing's suspension felt terrible Don't judge the Covert from his, I have ridden them with Roco's and Z1's and they felt 10x better.

    Oh yeah.....

There WAS that 37 mile hell ride....

J/King that ride was awesome, I just could have done without the extended climbs at altitude.

Bartlett Wash was cool, I actually need to ride it next time, maybe my shock won't blow up the first day?

    Bartlett was awesome.

We need to add Burro Pass next time. And I want to session those doubles on Hazard.

I bet we would beat the shuttle van if we rode up J/K.
We definitely need to do Amasa next time. The drop and step up are calling.

True...True...!! I'll more than like to never race, I kinda wanna try it out at least once but nothing more. I don't need anything that can handle big hucks and such so a full on Dh rig would be sweet. Cause that's all I'll be doing. That is the only reason I choose the Jedi. Unless I find one that performs similar to that for a cheaper price that's the bike on my list.

Those stinky's looks sweet this year espically the air ones.

No Problem! Just be warned if you ever go to the bar with me, It usually makes its way onto the jukebox multiple times...

    I like the Air a lot...but I don't like the $5K pricetag...
Plus, I have a feeling I'd kill the rear shock.

I want a hucker. I'm having a blast riding the Morphine 'cause I can roll up and just wheelie drop everything.

    Its not that expensive, considering.
If you look, its in the realm of most of the other DH frames out there.
It WILL be more since you have to build it yourself...I learned that lesson...

I know it's pretty much top dollar but I need to get away from those fr/dh bikes. Just need a good ole' DH rig. Breaking your neck makes you wakeup a bit. ....... If you think there is another bike similar to that function 303, Jedi, M6 for less money let me know. I had some time to do a little research of what kind of bike I would be needing for just straight DH stuff. I know you can get away witha fr/dh bike but...... IDK..... I just really want something with that rearward wheel path for Dh'ing. I figure it suites to my riding style alot more (plowing). I thought of the blindside but it's still in that fr/dh realm.

Help me find something. If not the Jedi due to cost and availability.

The Blindside is a DH bike, not quite as much as the Gran Mal was, but it is still a DH bike more than a FR bike. The Mal was the ultimate low cost plow bike, the rear end on it is so long it made me uncomfortable. It was like riding a mattress

There are other DH frames, but Canfield builds some sick bikes. I also like the new Cosair's.
