Cool airliner over 40th St. caught 5x in Google Maps

The area of PMP at the 40th. St. trailhead in Google Maps has recently been upgraded. And the new satellite photos include a big jet flying nearby caught 5 times. Out of all the jets in Google, this is one of the best, right in our riding hood.

Hey, you can see my house in this picture. And if you look REALLY closely, you can see me walking around in my (milkbone) undies.

Looks to me like that plane is cutting the trail and I'll bet not one of the passengers has a helmet on.

Semi-related: I saw a Street View car driving around the area (closer to 36th/Cholla) last week. Wonder if we'll get an update with that, too.

now if google manages to get a snapshot of one while in the 45 degree viewing angle,, THAT would be cool, but the altitude at the 45 degree view appears to only be about 500-1000' AGL, so it might not happen.

it still doesnt top a drunk aussie passed out on google street view...

Don't really know, but I'm sure the usage data they collect from searches in Google Maps tells them which areas need to be the most up-to-date. Areas that get more search hits are likely to be more current. That's just my guess.

I've noticed their satellite images updated twice for the Phoenix area since they bought them from Keyhole, Inc. That's an update every 3-4 years but I wouldn't take that as a hard number.

Are you saying "it's a doggy dog world out there, and you're wearing milkbone undies"
Sorry someone had to say it.

I think it's "dog eat dog world".
The satelite image of my house has been updated no more than 1 month ago too!
