Coming to Phoenix in Early December...

Don't worry, I'm not asking where to ride

On past trips, if I didn't bring someone along, I rode solo, but as I climb into my wiser years I figure it might be good to find some fellow riders that live in the area to ride with.

I'll only be there 2.5 days; arrive around noon on Thurs, Dec 4th, maybe ride, maybe chill at the campsite, ride Fri 5th & Sat 6th, then head back the morning of the 7th. My primary focus is South Mountain; plan to descend east National at least twice, do coast-to-coast once, and maybe poke around some others that I didn't know about when I lived there over 10 years ago. The only deviation, if there isn't any snow in the Pinals, might be to stop in Globe on the way in so I can hit Kellner or Sixshooter the day I arrive.

So, if you are around and free those days and want to ride, post here or shoot me a message.

absolutely nothing wrong with asking about where to ride... looks like you are a gravity rider and your plans are spot on... imho

Lol, I agree, but I've seen too many threads where someone asks where to ride, only to be dog-piled with lectures on using the search feature...

Not a gravity rider per se, maybe just a "not-so-serious gravity-biased trail/all-mountain rider", . I'm 40 and a little overweight, and not a risk taker (subjective, I suppose) on a 5" trail bike.

BTW, I hear the Summit road is still closed from rain damage?

I usually ride South mountain Friday around 6am I am on the trail. Pima canyon Trail head to BV lookout and back. Its a short ride and it's pretty early but there is hardly anyone on the trail at that time on Friday which makes it really nice.

Cool, thanks, I'll have to see how early I can get myself up and on the road. I'll also be camping out Beeline Hwy, so it'll take me a little while to get over there too. The good news is that my time is an hour ahead, so it'll be 7am for me, and getting up and moving just depends on how tired I am from the trip tonight and tomorrow. If you don't see an old silver CRV with black wheels and a blue Yeti by the time you are ready to roll, don't wait.

Its been going pretty good all morning at my house but its not a hard rain just steady. I live about 2-3 miles from the prima caynon trail head so im going to assume that the trails at SoMo are getting it too. I was just thinking about how pumped I am to get out there tomorrow after the rain. Shoot I'd actually like to ride out there while its raining but can't go today..

Yes getting rain, but it is a light steady rain. Trails should be even better.

Globe got a good bit of rain. Tried to drive up to Pinal Peak, but it was too slick.

I'm planning on riding SoMo on Saturday morning...maybe around 7:30 or 8:00. Up National then maybe down Corona Loma or something else. Let me know if you're interested.
