But the drivetrain is cr@ppy. So I'm converting it to a SS roadie. Commuter/around town bike. I need something faster than the Glory...

    ...

    What did you get?

I was considering getting a Surly Tugnut for my 1X1 -the ribbed washers just don't do it anymore-, but one of the guys at Kore showed me a sweet BMX tensioner for about half the price. Plus I don't have to wait for it in the mail!

    Sette tensioner from Pricepoint.
Nothing special, hopefully it doesn't break right away. But it was cheap and this is going on a roadie, so I don't need anything stout. I'm trying to re-build this thing as cheap as possible (since I got it for like $500 originally).

I just need something that goes fast on the road.

    Everywhere.

A good one is up Cave Creek road to Carefree and back. Or you can go through Carefree, then hit Pima and take that back through Scottsdale to Cave Creek. Either one is a good time.

Pima is both scary and fun. You can go really fast.

One of my favorites is up and down the Indian Bend wash. You don't have to deal with stupid traffic lights so you can just haul ass the whole time, can be crowded at times though. It curves and winds quite a bit which makes it fun, just watch out for the slippery spots. Also be careful when riding through the school zones, there's lots of little kids running around and not paying attention. Just give one a swift roundhouse to the side of the head as your riding by and the rest of them will stay out of your way
