    on purpose

i did miss the mash event. on pupose.
our event strives to be a little different than all that nonsense
we are a little older and don't ride aerospoke wheels, do "tricks", or wear woman's pants
this is all about using the wrong tool for the job(fixie on the road), and having some fun and drinking beers with some old friends and hopefully a bunch of new ones

come on out! see you there

    here come the judge

    more like an opinionated smartass!

there are a lot of people out there that own fixed gear bikes and also like to drink heavily. this is their race. This is a grudge match between two old friends and i decided to try and run a race around it. This is something that i have wanted to do since i moved to Tempe from NYC 6 years ago. I am pretty excited about it and a little trash talking along the way is going to happen. but when it comes down to it, we are all just friends drinkin and pedaling in this unspoken brotherhood of bicycles

so the next time you are riding in Tempe and a short kid with beard rides by and says "what up fixie!" it is OK to make eye contact and say hello back
since these little bikes got popular i haven't had a single person say hi back to me. I'm just trying to spread a little bit of this vibe to my friends and hopefully met some more like minded people in the process. Thats why i'm posting on this site.

i hope to see you out there
got a nice bottle of scotch for the winner

I say hi to everyone when riding my fixie ... even the drunks that I pass along 48th St on the way to work. I usually ring my bell repeatedly too. Yes, I am a menace. So, if we were to pass be assured that I'd be smiling back at you and might even wink.

Wish I could join your "race" but I'm guaranteed to be all tuckered out by Sunday night. Parties all weekend, Walt's triple bypass on Sunday, my date on Saturday with a chainsaw and my humongous date palm in the backyard... it's all going to kill me.

Great time ... lots of beer, hauling ass on bikes, near death experiences, people losing their way (and their dinner), more beer, fun ... good times!

    Thanks Chris!

    It's on again ... soon!
