    Bell Pass/Toms Thumb Pics

Sorry no riding pics since I went solo. Trekked up Bell from the south so I would have the longer dh down to east end. From east end went up Toms Thumb and back down the west side which was steeper than I thought it was. Jammed my chain twice which killed about an hour yanking it out from the wheel and had to break it once. Overall, 4073 ft of climbing in under 14 miles. Pic of the gps.

I love that last pic....the blocky fractured granite always seemed like those toys we had as children with numbers and letters on the side....only we now get to ride through them....

Thx. knocked out more than I walked. As you know from our PMP rides, my brakes weren't up to the challenge. Hopefully Friday picking some up. Coming down the east side looks hairy!

Yeah your brakes did have a most unusual sound. East side has a couple hairy places for sure.

nice ride 'dog. I've been riding those peaks a good amount since moving, gotta say climbing East End is something i hope to never try - heard its 100% HAB. I went down it 2 weeks ago, and the ruts made it harder than usual - can't imagine climbing. FWIW, riding Windmill\Coachwhip\Pemberton\RockNob over to the North Access area is pretty easy and fun after the steeps. Climbing to TT from North Access area only took me 45 min with about 50% HAB. The descent down the west side of TT into Scottsdale is fun and long!

Brakes? Why do you need brakes!

Thx, the trail did look very inviting heading to the north access area. Gonna have to try that soon! This area will build your climbing skills very quickly or make you die trying. That descent is worth it for sure.
