    Barn Burner Vets: Camping question...

How quickly does this fill up, and should I plan on trying to get down early? I need to try and reserve a spot for two soloists and one 4-person team. Does it fill up fast a la 24 HitOP?

Camping is in a big field and kind of marked off like a parking lot. I would say they have ample camping spots for the entire event. Last year near the lap barn, they had a corral set up for the solos, where I left a cooler, bin and camp chair and it worked pretty good and I never needed to go to my vehicle.

Get there Noon on Friday and there should be plenty of space. Get there after 5 and its a bit more packed. People are really cool about saving a spot for your friends. Its a big camping area, watch out for the hidden boulders as you drive around looking for a spot.( also after of few beers they'll take you out).

last year I got there just after dark, but easily found a spot. Then, not so easliy, I put a tent up in the dark. This year I'm leaving my house around nine am to ensure plenty daylight to get situated.

We got there right before dark last year. There were plenty of spaces available but friends had saved us a spot. It was DUSTY. bike was coated on the hitch rack.

If we ever do it again, I might try to get there early enough to camp right next to the "track" so we can watch the kids from our spot. They rode their bikes non-stop around it most of the race day.

Hopefully the rains up there have helped knock the dust down this year.

    Good luck peeps!

What activities are available for the kids? Should I bring their bikes too?

Bring their bikes for sure. They can bike, run, walk, and play in the dirt. Maybe even climb some trees but they will get pine sap all over them

Don't they have a kid's race on the little BMX track in the center of the campground?
