AZT fun ride, Kaibab Nat Forest and AZT in a day event

I was looking for fire closure and restrictions for the Kaibab Nat Forrest and ran across some bike events they have going on. the first one is 18 mile fun ride on a section of the AZT May 13th

    https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/kaiba...d=FSEPRD579013

The other one is AZT In a Day. you pick a section of the trail you want to ride or hike and you have 24 hours to complete that section.

here is the link to that one

That second event looks really neat. They plan to have all 800 miles covered in 24 hours. I just may sign up for a section.

It sucks. I just found out about the event and I'm gonna be outta town. I would love to have done it with a group. Camp out and ride a few sections with friends. But it's ok. I'll be in Hawaii as long as the house I'm staying in is still there. It's on the east side of the island.

I'd be more worried about the sulfur gas than the house being in tack....

Yea I've been over there and had to deal with SO2. I wish I could bring my bike this time. Gonna have to deal with a rental.

I spoke to two of my customers in Hilo and it was fine with the winds blowing away for now
