It was very cool, first time I've seen one in person. Seen several of them (pictures) on this forum.

What are you using for photo attachments??

    Thanks

Scotth72: Fantastic shot, I really like the foreground lighting.

Here's a few from today, both good & bad:

Heading south on the AZT from Picketpost
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

View of the new cut-in from behind a cool rock spire
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

New trail making it's way up to a saddle
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

Another cool view of the trail
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

Here's pano of the end-of-trail as of 5.8.11
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

I'll call this the Golden Spike pano, the end-of-trail is on the left and another segment coming up from the south is to the right, maybe only 1/2 to 3/4 mile left until they connect?
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

Now for the bad, this is what I saw as Picketpost mountain came back into view this afternoon
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

Just after crossing the wash that the hikers take to go up the mountain (about 0.5 miles from the TH)
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

Took this shot as I was high tailing it out of the parking lot, flames were about 25 yards from my car when I returned. Hopefully the owner of the tan sedan made it back in the next 15 minutes or so, otherwise car-b-q!!
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

This was on the north side of the lot on my way out
    From Picketpost EOT 5.8.11

Finally, I had to wait for the smoke to clear a bit before I could get out of there!! So sad to see.
