Bike pack to the Canyon from Bismarck Lake

Excellent, but the winds were pretty wild.

It's the dog days alright. June for me is time to hibernate. I haven't been on my bike for about three weeks now.

Checked out the new Hidden Hills Bypass with Cholla last weekend. Really cool stuff.

    Cholla has mad levitation skills.

You will notice the difference in those brakes every single time you ride. The XT is the first disc that combines silence, ease of setup, modulation and one finger braking all in one package for me. No compromises!

Dead Horse Park in Cottonwood. First time there and was I impressed. A seriously fun trail and only two miles away from a couple of my accounts up there. I think a couple of my accounts up there are going to get some extra visits now!

Good to hear its a worth while trail. I saw that they had camping up there too, wanted to make a nice weekend where I could also do my own ride while the rest of the family did their own thing. Just gotta work on getting some camping supplies...

The camps are pretty nice, they have guided horseback rides for the family, fishing and lagoons and some of the camps have really nice bathrooms with clean hot showers and the whole thing. I want to camp and ride the trails at night out there.

Except for underwhelming power and above average fade. Great trail brake. Not so good for extended or steep downs. Modulation is fantastic, I will agree with that.

Never noticed that, but to be fair, the brake is -pretty much designed as a XC-ish brake not a DH or Enduro brake. Also, your rotor size could be the culprit, as could your weight, and how much brake your skill level requires. Riding down Spruce Mtn back to White Spar the only fade I noticed was on the gnarliest sections of Turley with my rear brake and it was minimal and the brake came back 100% in about 30 seconds of riding.

You may want to hit MTBproject.com for some better beta. I got a little off my planned route (it would be hard to get lost here) and came across about four trails spidering off that I was really tempted to try out, but wasn't sure. Next time!

I just got a set on the Pitch on recommendation from Blatant. Said they are some of the best brakes he's used. Just rode Cheesegrater today and they seemed fine but that's not a significant downhill where you need constant braking. We'll see...

Where did all the dirt go from that new trail excavation? There must have been hundreds of tons of it.

I have no idea. I doubt they took it of the mountain. Helicopter? Teleporter? Pockets?

1st ride was yesterday out at Gold Canyon. Brakes were awesome! Very pleased with their performance!
